　　第一天的开幕式讲座邀请了WHO官员和WHF、ESC、ACC、AHA、AHPA主席，就全球所面临的非传染性疾病的严峻挑战做主题演讲，NCD占当今世界死亡总数的63%以上，占中国死亡总数的80%，其中心血管疾病引起的NCD死亡居首位。15个国际联合论坛，将介绍最新指南、心血管影像、脑卒中防治、房颤抗凝等临床研究与最新进展。6家国内外医院的介入手术和房颤射频术的直播及死亡病例分析将是您不可获缺的学习机会。青年医师奖评选和首次开设的英文演讲比赛会场，更是年轻医师感兴趣并要积极参与的。

　　Dear Friends and Colleagues:
　　Welcome to the 22nd Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology (GWICC) & Asia Pacific Heart Congress (APHC) 2011 in Beijing.
　　GW-ICC is the largest and most influential congress on cardiology in China. It attracts more than ten thousands participants from 29 countries and regions， and also gets together at first time with top-level international academic societies， such as American College of Cardiology (ACC)， European Society of Cardiology (ESC)， World Heart Federation (WHF)， American Heart Association (AHA)， and Asia Pacific Heart Association (APHA). This year GW-ICC with a theme of “Integrated， Healthy and Sustainable Development” is highlighted by Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and international joint symposia， and focuses on new guidelines and how to standardize clinical practice. The congress—with 315 sessions， 45 satellite symposia and 1449 speakers in 23 conference rooms—will update your knowledge on latest advances in cardiology.
　　The WHO officers and the chairmen from WHF、ESC、ACC、AHA、AHPA will discuss， in the opening lecture， about the greatest global challenges caused by NCDs. Nowadays， NCDs cause more than 63% of total deaths in the world and account for at least 80 percent of 10.3 million deaths a year in China. Cardiovascular disease is the major cause of NCD’s death， and it kills 3 million Chinese a year. The congress has 15 joint symposia focused on clinical research， and the advances of the new guidelines， cardiovascular imaging， stroke prevention and new anticoagulants. You should not miss the learning chance in the live-demo sessions of intervention and AF ablation， as well as the analysis of death cases. The young physicians are encouraged to attend new sessions for an English speech match and the Young Investigator Award.
　　GW-ICC’s Sina Weibo (a Chinese micro-blogging site) and living conference broadcast online will keep the attendees updated and also provide an opportunity for interaction.
